Jordan II Shoes For Basketball

The original Air Jordan line of basketball shoes is without a doubt the most popular line of shoes of all time. From the original Jordan I to the most current Jordan 2011, there is not a single shoe in the line that is not epic. Well, maybe there is one shoe from that line that doesn’t qualify as epic. Many Jordan shoe fanatics consider the Jordan II to be a less than epic. Jordanheads are not the only shoe fanatics that don’t consider this shoe to be a true Jordan classic. Michael Jordan himself also didn’t care much for the shoe. So much so that he considered leaving Nike and signing with another shoe company. Cheap air jordan

Not only did the the Air Jordan 2 sell poorly upon it’s original release, it had a horrible first appearance as a retro. It just didn’t sell. In fact, the shoe ended up on discount racks at Footlocker and even made it to the back row at TJ Maxx. A pair of the Jordan II Retros could be copped for pennies on the dollar. The problem was the shoe’s midsole. It was too soft and would crack very easily. As a result, many sneakerheads simply threw them away or they were demoted to yardwork duty.

After the failure of the Jordan II Retros, Jordan Brand, years later, has rolled out the Air Jordan 2.0 in an attempt to make the shoe more marketable. Apparently JB decided that some changes were in order so that the shoe would be much more marketable. The silhouette of the Jordan II was used with a few changes made to the midsole and design on the upper. The midsole uses the Nike 360 Max Air cushioning. In addition the famous elephant print from the Jordan III is used on the upper and extends from the mid section to the toe box.

The newest Jordan 2.0 colorway to drop features a light grey nubuck leather upper. Black is used on the midsole, heel and on the inner lining. The beautiful elephant print is used on the upper extending from the mid section to the toe box. It actually extends around the entire box. Gold accents are used on the tongue, Air unit, and the old Air Jordan logo. A white rubber outsole finishes off the shoe.

The Jordan 2.0 is one sick looking shoe. The same can not be said about the original Jordan II. Many Jordan shoe fanatics have critisized Jordan Brand for making changes to the original Air Jordan’s. To each his own, but the addition of elephant print and the 360 Air Max unit have completely changed the look and performance of the original shoe. This is one pair of Jordan shoes for basketball that, unlike the original II, is truly epic.
